As a sequel to “The Underdogs” ad from 2019, Apple has created a new 7-minute film with the same cast, the same problem to solve but all having to be done in lockdown. Much like the original, the ad is funny, well-scripted, of the moment but also hopeful of the future. The production team from Smuggler and Director Mark Molloy (Australia) are back for round 2. They had to employ a truly COVID style film production – shooting remotely with a skeleton crew who of course had to adhere to the COVID guidelines. The crew having to endure similar challenges to the characters in the story! The film has reached 10 million hits on youtube and provides the right amount of engagement, relatability and comedy needed at the moment.
