In our daily work at biites.com we are lucky, to constantly have the opportunity be exposed to, and deal with, great branded films of all kinds. Now and again a great piece of content stands out. On this occasion we’d like to share one of those great pieces and share why we think Visit Norway’s film ‘Exploring the Fjords’ deserves to be singled out as an example of ‘best practice’ when it comes to video content.
Focus, focus, focus…
The Visit Norway video follows members of the Copenhagen-based Rapha Cycling Club as they cycle their way through the trialling steep, winding mountain roads of Fjord Norway.
The fine-tuned focus in the video is remarkable and commendable for two reasons – reasons that we advise other brands, businesses and organisations to pay attention to:
Aspiration and invitation
The Visit Norway club is not exclusive. The narrative of the video is based around a highly skilled, yet amateur, club of cycling enthusiasts. They showcase a group of people full of passion, who through their own ambitions and aspirations show a remarkable level of motivation. The viewer gets a glimpse into a world which is admirable and inviting. What’s not to like?
We (at biites) have met comments such as “why travel south to France, when we have everything for the perfect cycling trip just up north from us? That’s were my next cycling trip should take place!” from cycling enthusiasts who have watched the video.
And with such comments, we believe that the mission of the branded content video is completely fulfilled – through captivating and inviting storytelling.
The Visit Norway tagline ’Powered by Nature’ is visually evident throughout the video. The message comes to life through Norway’s stunning scenery. You cannot help being sucked into the dramatic views and beautiful landscapes. Wanting to feel it all in “real life”.
There are plenty of ways to create great video content and Visit Norway’s film is one example of how it can be done beautifully and effectively.
